Her Early Life

Nancy Louise Marshall Miller, 77, passed away on January 29, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC.

Nancy balanced grace and public service beginning her journey in Washington DC, born to Harold Vincent Marshall and Myrtle Louise Baird Marshall.

After graduating from Bladenboro High School, Nancy embarked on an extraordinary career at the State Department. As an Executive Secretary, she had the honor of flying aboard Air Force One with the Secretary of State and was crowned Miss State Department in 1966.

However, it was her role as a mother that she considered her greatest calling. With unwavering love, she devoted herself to raising her two sons, Aaron and Brandyn, and embraced her stepson, Carl, as her own.

Those who knew Nancy often spoke of her remarkable beauty – both inside and out. She had a special gift for celebrating others, never missing an occasion to send a heartfelt card to friends and family, ensuring everyone felt remembered and cherished.
